We lost an American treasure on May 15, 2003 with the passing of June Carter Cash and it is with a combination of pleasure and sadness that Dualtone brings you June Carter Cash's final recording - Wildwood Flower - a poignant yet uplifting reminder of exactly why she was, and for many always will be, the undisputed Queen of country music. Recorded from October 2002 to March 2003 in Mother Maybelle's childhood home in Mace's Springs, Virginia, the album finds June joined by Johnny Cash, A.P & Sarah Carter's children Joe and Janette Carter, her daughter Carlene Carter, grandchildren Laura Cash and Tiffany Carter Lowe as well as a whole host of family friends that include Marty Stuart and Norman Blake. The songs are a combination of Carter family classics and originals penned by June and are lovingly produced by June and Johnny's son, John Carter Cash. Liner notes from Rosanne Cash reflect on memories of her step-mother and pay tribute to her influence on country music and its history
