"Cracker's bittersweet hilarity guarantees a hardcore following, and they'll love this kaleidoscope review. Expertly played, a whole heap of snappy fun." - Uncut ****

Monday 26th January 2004 sees the release of "O Cracker Where Art Thou?", a collaboration between Cracker's David Lowery and Johnny Hickman, and Colorado jam-band Leftover Salmon. Playful, funny and unencumbered, "O Cracker Where Art Thou?" effortlessly bends classic, and not so classic, Cracker tracks into new shapes.
The idea for the album came about during the Summer of 2002, when Lowery and Hickman met up with the members of Leftover Salmon in Crackers home-base of Richmond, VA. "We hung around the studio for two nights and jammed like the old days when you have a bunch of friends over to jam and re-interpret songs," explains Lowery. Performing at a number of gigs together, the re-inventions were so well received that they decided to record an album. "I've played these songs hundreds of times, so Leftover Salmon's twists made the songs totally fresh to me," says Lowery. "'Get Off This' is bluegrass/rocksteady that harkens back to David Lindley's El Rayo X."
Cracker formed in 1991 and had a number of hits including 'Teen Angst", "Happy Birthday To Me", "Cracker Soul", "Sweet Thistle Pie", "Low" and "Eurotrash Girl".
Leftover Salmon formed in 1989 and their most notable album, "The Nashville Sessions" saw the band pairing off with some of Nashville's finest including Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck and Lucinda Williams.
"O Cracker Where Art Thou?" is available on CD only. Full track listing as follows :
