Monday 5th September sees the release of "Leggo Dub" by Ossie All Stars on the newly formed Cooking Vinyl imprint, Hot Pot. The original album has been long unavailable and this reissue adds six bonus cuts to that set. At the same time it portrays two remarkable talents; the deservedly celebrated Channel One house band the Revolutionaries [with the legendary Sly Dunbar at the drum kit] and the still relatively unsung Oswald 'Ossie' Hibbert as the producer, arranger and mixing engineer.
Originally released on Cash & Carry Records of Orange Street, Kingston, the albums features guest musicians The Revolutionaries, The Soul Syndicate and The Aggrovators. Seven of the ten tracks on the original album are dub versions - complete with various added sound effects - of songs contacted on Ossie's classic Gregory Isaacs album, "Mr Isaacs", along with a version of Horace Andy's "I'm Alright" rhythm originally recorded by the singer for Keith Hudson.
For this reissue six tracks have been added, taken from b-sides of various Ossie Sound and Earthquake label 7" 45s. "Lion Fence Version" was the b-side of Ranking Trevor's "Lion Fence", "Zion I" was first issued as the flip to Frankie Jones' "Rasta Children", "Special Version" and "Loving Version" backed deejay U.Brown's singles "Special Request" and "Love Is All I Have", with the dubs from the b-sides of Earth & Stone's "Wicked A Fi Dress Back" and Dillinger's "Take A Dip" [itself a version of Gregory's "Slavemaster" also from the "Mr Isaacs" LP] as the last two bonus cuts.
